Hi, I’m Rhiannon-Skye! I’m an award-winning Leeds-based poet and professional freelance writer, with a first-class degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Leeds.

Poetry

I am a published poet and award-winning spoken word artist, whose work has been featured across print, radio and stage, from Radiophrenia Glasgow to The Blue Heron Review. I have led poetry and spoken word workshops with groups aged from 13 to 21, on themes such as identity, queerness, mental health and politics, and recently published three interconnected zines entitled A Posy For Balance, which can be purchased here.

Copywriting

I have three years experience as a junior copywriter, during which time I have written engaging organic and paid social media ad copy for a variety of brands and businesses. I have created seasonal advertising campaigns, developed email flows designed to convert new buyers, and worked with clients to build a TOV from scratch before their businesses launched. I have worked for sports and gym brands, skincare and pet care companies, as well as managing the social media of several publications and events, and am currently available for all your B2B or B2C copywriting needs.

Content Writing

I have 5+ years of experience in the content writing sector and, in that time, I have created work in a variety of formats and niches. I have written breaking news bulletins, entertainment listicles and do-it-yourself tutorials, as well as reviewing television, film and theatre for a number of prominent publications. I have also worked as a scriptwriter and researcher for a number of successful YouTube channels, creating educational and engaging videos on pop-culture, nature and urban legends, with a collective subscriber count of over 10 million.

Music Journalism

As a music journalist, I have interviewed many popular acts, including Creeper, Mallory Knox, The Wonder Stuff and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin. I have written features documenting the local Leeds music scene, reviewed festivals such as Reading and Leeds, 2000 Trees and Slam Dunk, and covered countless gigs, singles and album releases. I have also created EPKs, bios and one-sheets for numerous bands worldwide, conducted full digital press campaigns, and have managed a team of 20+ music writers at two separate publications.
